In March 2020, I began browsing the Anne Arundel County real estate market to purchase my first single family home. I had a lender in mind and got pre-approved by them ahead of time. During the pre-approval process, the lender informed me that they offered additional credits at closing if you used one of their preferred buyers agents. This seemed like a win-win, so I began touring homes with the "preferred" agent they provided. After touring a couple homes, I was not impressed with the mundane, somewhat pushy agent they chose. As a result, I requested a list of the lender's preferred agents so that I could research alternative options. As I scoured the web for reviews, one name stood out -- Scott Schuetter. Scott was a Naval Academy graduate with an impressive resume and a ton of experience in the area. I told my lender that Scott was the agent I wanted to work with. I toured my first home with Scott on April 18th (6 weeks into my search), and upon meeting him it was clear that I chose the right agent. Scott was professional, extremely knowledgeable, and an overall blast to work with from the start. I went on to tour about 2 dozen homes with Scott and his associates, Meghan Kreitzer and Kerry Petz. After 5 months of searching in a COVID-fueled seller's market with historically low interest rates, I finally found my dream home. It was on the market for less than 24 hours with multiple offers above asking price. The home was in excellent condition and I didn't want to offer more than asking price, so Scott's team recommended I submit an AS-IS offer. I agreed, and my AS-IS offer at asking price was accepted the following morning. Scott set me up with an outstanding home inspector and the inspection went very well. No major issues with the home, except for a large hole in the ceiling (which I created when my foot slipped while inspecting the attic). Scott had a drywall contractor on speed dial, and the hole was fixed the next day. At closing, the sellers admitted they only accepted my offer because of the AS-IS clause. I cannot thank Scott and his team enough for their patience and guidance throughout my 5 month home search. If you're looking for a buyer's agent in Anne Arundel County, then look no further. Scott Schuetter is your man.

Our real estate adventure started in May when we decided to relocate from Washington State to Maryland. In advance of an early June house hunting trip, we contacted Scott Schuetter and started working with him to select a home for our family. After extensive work and a successful trip, we had an accepted offer on a home we were excited about. Scott assisted us every step of the way, displaying in depth, detailed knowledge of the area, exceptional negotiating skills and nearly instantaneous responsiveness. Unfortunately, this house did not work out as we moved through the appraisal and inspections. The inspector Scott recommended was incredibly detailed and after weighing our options, we chose to break off negotiations. This was established in spades as the home we ultimately obtained, cost us less to buy and establish housekeeping in than either of the previous two homes we'd hoped to own. Furthermore, the best was indeed saved for last, this home is a better fit for our family in every way than any of the homes on the market in our target area for the last 6 months. Continually through the process, Scott displayed patience and perseverance, always making recommendations based on his understanding of our needs and desires.
